City Sanctuary Bed and Breakfast is an attractively restored villa, located just a short distance from the Dunedin city centre with its vibrant cafe culture, avante-garde shopping, galleries and theatres. City Sanctuary B&B is set amidst lovely cottage gardens and large trees, providing a peaceful retreat to revitalise in at the end of the day.
Inside this charming bed and breakfast there are three spacious guest bed rooms, renovated to provide modern comforts and design. The large guest lounge receives the afternoon sun and has a heat pump and log burner for winter, ensuring a warm relaxing space to return to at the end of the day.
Dunedin's eco-tourism is fabulous, with wildlife tours to see Royal Albatross, Penguins and Fur Seals picking up from our door. The very scenic Otago Peninsula is also home to Larnach's Castle (New Zealand's only castle) and the surrounding harbour and beaches are watersport playgrounds. See our About Dunedin page for ideas and information relating to activities around the Dunedin area. Please note that most people find a one night stay too short to enjoy what Dunedin has to offer.
For the business person (and all guests) we have provided extra facilities. These include free high speed WiFi (or internet plug), and guest computer in the living room. Each room has tea and coffee provisions, ironing facilities, and direct phone access. Of course you can relax and unwind in the guest lounge, and make yourself comfortable and we will do everything we can to make your stay most enjoyable. The accommodation is only a few minutes drive from the town center and provides a restful retreat. You would hardly know that you are in the city center, it's usually quiet and we have lots of trees, birds and privacy.
2011 Rugby World Cup - Dunedin is hosting three Rugby World Cup matchs and if you are planning a visit to Dunedin to watch the rugby we would love to accommodate you, but we do recommend that you book your Dunedin accommodation early.
So check out the information on our web site (and guests comments) and if you are interested in coming and staying we have an online booking service and online room availability page, make an online enquiry via our reservations page or email us. We'd love to have you stay and help you enjoy Dunedin :)
Please note that we have some stairs leading up to the house so our Bed and Breakfast accommodation will not suit mobility impaired people. We are really happy to carry in your suit cases :)
There is safe car parking available on the street.
